boycott arizona

The State of Arizona passed SB1070. This law will call for regular police officers to request documentation from people to ascertain whether or not they are undocumented. This is racial profiling and discrimination, as the officers will be relying on the appearance of people to detain them. Many US citizens and residents will be wrongfully harassed and detained. We can vote with our dollars! Boycott the State of Arizona by vowing not to spend your vacation dollars in that state, whether that be by not engaging in tourism in Arizona, by not doing business within the state, or by not buying anything that comes from Arizona, (paying specific attention to corporations and businesses that support these mean spirited laws like SB1070, as well as, those supporting the likes of Sherrif Joe Arpaio and Senator Russell Pearce) until such a time that this law is overturned or ruled unconstitutional. Immigration is a matter for the federal authorities to handle and should not to be delegated to the average police officer who is not trained in immigration law.

Honorable Officials:
We the undersigned are appalled by the passage of SB1070. This law is in essence legalizing the practice of discrimination and legitimizing racism because the officers will rely on the ethnicity, race, and skin color of the people to arrest them. No one should live in fear of asking the police for help, and no one should live in fear of serving as a witness to assist the police in solving a crime. We therefore respectfully, do hereby vow to boycott the State of Arizona, and will not be spending our vacation dollars, will not do business within Arizona, nor will we buy products or services from Arizona, until such a time that this law is deemed unconstitutional, is overturned, or rejected by the authorities of the State of Arizona.
The Republican Governor of Arizona has a few days to veto the bill, sign it into law, or just do nothing in which case the law goes into effect.
San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera on Monday called for a sweeping boycott of the state of Arizona and Arizona-based businesses.
Day, Arizona has again chosen to isolate itself from the rest of the nation. San Francisco should lead the way in adopting and aggressively pursuing a sweeping boycott of Arizona and Arizona-based businesses until this unjust law is repealed or invalidated. He is planning to introduce a resolution Tuesday that that essentially condemns the actions of the state of Arizona and calls for a boycott of the state.

Its about time some one took a stand on-illegal immigration This Law will stand under the guidlines of the 10th amendment "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people" If it stands, im moving to arizona and getting the hell out of Comi-fornia

".....No, health care if not FREE for the illegals. If they are here illegally, they do NOT deserve it.

I challenge you to go to any other country in the world and live there illegally while demanding the same rights and services granted to people who are living there legally. We need to do the same.

Having said that, a big part of the problem lies in all of the companies who hire the illegals. That needs to be dealt with as well. The AZ law isn't perfect, but it gets the ball rolling in the right direction.
