Bret Baier is the anchor of "Special Report with Bret Baier." It was Petraeus' final interview from the region. Baier also reported from the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention.

In 2008 he hosted a one-hour special on President Bush including exclusive behind the scenes interviews with the President aboard Air Force one, inside the Oval Office and at the Bush residence in Crawford, Texas. He joined FNC in 1998 as the first reporter to be based in the Atlanta bureau. The singer returned for the third season of the show called “Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels,” wherein the girls traveled on tour buses with him.
However, he was again rushed to the hospital on April 22 when he complained of extreme headache.

It was learned that he had suffered massive hemorrhage and he is currently in a critical condition.
