bullock

Women are sometimes the harshest critics of the women who stay. Elin Nordegren? Hanging in there for the money.

We snarky gawkers have plenty of material to harsh on in the Sandra Bullock - Jesse James saga. The tattoos. The white supremacist connection. The Vanilla Gorilla nickname.

The accolades Bullock heaped upon her husband as she enjoyed a spotlight that belonged only to her are now cringeworthy: At the Oscars, choking up when thanking her mother for allowing her to "have that," her marriage with Jesse James; at the Golden Globes, thanking Jesse "who works so hard, all day, and you get dressed up in monkey suits with people you don't know... and with, gulp, Barbara Walters, here and here, gushing about the man who has her back.
Even worse, he allows her to entangle her professional identity with their marriage and to publicly share her every achievement with the man who "has her back," even as he's texting his next stripper hook-up.
Of all the bad, bad, very bad things that man did to his wife, the very worst was to allow her to love his children, knowing he couldn't keep himself together. The addition of young children to the mix only complicates the decision.
At least for now, James's ex-wife is saying Sandra can stay in her daughter's life: "She has taken care of our daughter as if she was her own ... she sacrificed much ... and I will forever be indebted to her for that."Ask Jesse James.

The most painful Bullock quotes to rewind were given to Barbara Walters:

"I always had this feeling that if you got married, it was the the end of who you were. The end result in life that we both want is the same. The thing we want at the end of the day is the same.

She appreciated what she had, but her husband didn't. She wanted nothing other than to keep it all -- her work, her happiness, her man, and her children -- but now she can't.

Every cheater risks losing it all, but Jesse James had more at stake than the average dog, and his wife's the one who now has to pay the tab. Because of his acts, she has to choose between her dignity and a five year old child she has come to love as her own. Sandra -- who dedicated her Academy Award to "the moms who take care of the babies and the children, wherever they come from" -- cannot leave him without leaving them.
Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are not living under the same roof right now.

Bullock and James, 40, met in 2004 during a tour of the set of the Discovery Channel's Monster Garage, which James starred in.

Sandra Bullock was photographed hiking this week in Northern California with her dog, and without her wedding ring.

"[The infidelity scandal has] broken her heart, and they will divorce," the source told Fox411.com. "She is trying to pick her way through the mess and all the stress of knowing his three children will be hurt no matter what happens. The kids are what is holding her back from filing for the divorce immediately.
"With Jesse in rehab, she is trying to tread lightly. Sandra is doing this on her own timeline and refuses to budge or give in to people who say she should divorce him immediately," the source explained. "Jesse and his children are her family and in some ways always will be. She's taken some time off and plans to stay out of the spotlight.

The insider said Bullock has definitely come to grips with the fact that James was not the guy she thought he was.

"Sandra got to be with a side of Jesse that he rarely gave to anyone else and now she's seeing what everyone else always saw," the pal said. She's so level-headed and grounded and that is what is getting her through this."

James was accused of infidelity by multiple women shortly after Bullock won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "The Blind Side."

When Sandra Bullock stepped on stage to accept the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Blind Side, she was her perfectly calibrated, accessible self: the Miss Congeniality of the Hollywood beauty pageant.
She took a hiatus from the film-making business when she was unhappy with a lack of challenge in the roles she was offered. .
She had her nose fixed – and it’s still not perky. “She does everything right, but things don’t work out for her.”James. “The perception was that men wouldn’t fall in love with her. She couldn’t find the right guy.”

Her marriage to Mr. And with Jesse, people didn’t like him. She was like the characters she played in films.”

Ms. Bullock was the ideal stepmom to Mr. She was actively involved in the custody battle for the youngest when Ms. Lindemulder was imprisoned for tax evasion.
She fawned over her monkey-suited bad boy at all the awards shows, gushing about her love for him, how hot he was, how much she wanted him, as the cameras panned to his mug, smiling in his goatee. But as weeks go by, and the scandal remains on the covers of the tabloids, darker theories are emerging.
James.
More troubling is the notion that perhaps Ms. Bullock is fearful that if she divorces him, he will sell stories that could ruin her image.
“She must have known,” she says of Mr.
